Concussion Testing Update

The State of Ohio began requiring referees to take a concussion course on-line in 2013.  One of the recommended courses that meet’s the state’s requirements is located at:

http://www.nfhslearn.com/electiveDetail.aspx?courseID=38000.

It is good for three years and the certificate should be carried with you anytime you are officiating.  To gain your USSF recert or novice license you will also find you will be required to take an additional course as part of your pre-meeting requirements to earn your grade 8 or better license.

The rules are vague on concussion training and what is suitable so the FSRA recommends you take and  pass both the NFHS course and the required USSF course to be safe until the requirements are more clear.
