2017 classes are typically scheduled for late July/early August.  Two classes are held, and run from 9:00am to 5:00pm – attendance at both days is required.  Location: Lorain Community College.  Check this website later in the year for exact date posting information.

No prior experience is needed and all current USSF referees are welcome.   We suggest new referees be high school graduates or older, or have proven to be reliable, mature referees.  The cost of this clinic is $105.00.  This fee includes your first year OHSAA fees ($55.00) and all instructional material.

High School games generally pay on average $40-50 for a center referee and $25-$35 for an assistant referee in the varsity game.  Most schools use a two referee system for JV matches and pay $25-$35.  When appropriate, a referee can be assigned to the JV match, and then “stay” to run a line for the Varsity match.

You can download the Referee Clinic Application http://www.fsrainc.org/REF%20clinic%20app.pdf.

Upon completion of the class, you are encouraged to participate in a High School Preview event, a round robin tune up tournament for HS Boys and Girls teams –  held in August – it’s a kick start to the season and will help you “cut your teeth” with some experienced referees and real HS action.
